Warming Up with Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal

I'm popping in quickly to share that we weathered Nemo and thankfully didn't suffer power outages as we did with Sandy. We were more prepared this time, and I sat nervously working until about midnight watching for flickering lights the entire time. Whew!

What we were left with was lovely now slushy, dirty snow and a bit of a chill that reminded me of how I warmed up as a child: with hot cereal. I'm a huge fan of oatmeal and grew up on the stuff so when I received a sample of Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal in my Influenster Holiday VoxBox I was excited to give it a try.

I received the Cherry Pistachio flavor and had to wait for a time when Lil Love Bird wasn't snooping around so I could enjoy it all to myself (c'mon fellow moms! Don't judge - you've done that too!). It was surprisingly hearty - not soupy or gooey like the regular instant packets tend to be. I like my oatmeal a bit toothy and have tried steel cut oats in the past too and Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal reminded me of that texture but definitely with more flavor.

While I prefer sweetening my own oatmeal, Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal is a great way to get whole grains when you don't have a lot of time to spare. There really is no excuse to skip breakfast - it's my most favorite meal!

Disclosure: I was provided a free sample of Quaker Real Medleys Oatmeal from Influenster. All opinions expressed are my own.
