How Are You?

If there's one thing this week has made evident it's that this weekend especially *must* be a time for self-care. As I watched Grayson enjoy his two grapefruits today (he's obsessed!) I thought about how beautiful it was that he was so carefree and in the moment. I kinda felt jealous! While I know my professional and domestic responsibilities will only afford so much carefree-ness, I'm glad I purposely left my calendar pretty light lately so I can just enjoy being with my family.

That's what self-care means to me.

We've had lots of cuddling, visits from friends the past couple weeks and planning discussions as we prepare for our family's 1st Disney cruise in a few weeks. I'm very much looking forward to that and in the interim, thinking of ways that I can be better to myself.

While I don't do resolutions I'm trying to make a habit of getting back into working our regularly (I mean the Y is a 5 minute walk from our home!) as well as continuing on my mission to read more books. I see everyone talking about taking a break from social media and for what I do although I can't do that completely, I can make the rounds on things that also make me smile and not just shake my head in disgust.

One of those things has been enjoying the #NewEditionBET posts this week. How did BET know we'd need this right at this time? So many of my friends got a lot of joy from the mini-series and Uka and I had fun reminiscing about what it was like growing up in the 80s and 90s. We definitely don't envy today's kids! This 90s voicemail challenge really had me laughing - did you do this too???

Anyway, please share with me how you're finding self-care and keeping your spirits up lately. Also, I'm still taking book suggestions!

Have a good weekend!
