Blogging "At" Others

Growing up in the church I heard the term "praying at someone." I guess it's kind of like sub tweeting where instead of addressing the person you have an issue with directly you mention it publicly without directing it to them.

Childish and stupid, I know.

Well, I don't know what's going on in the blogosphere or maybe it's always been there and I'm just now recognizing it, but I've noticed a lot of "blogging at" is going on.

And it's unsettling.

Here's my take: no matter what microcosm you find that suits you there are bound to be interpersonal conflicts. I went to a huge mega church growing up and it appeared to me that many of the attendees and members were so caught up in the social network the church provided. Current events, community news, social issues etc. they just didn't matter because the church was their world.

It's the same for the blogging community at times.

Most people don't read blogs and not everyone is into social media, but if that's your world it's easy for it to appear SO large to you, but really, in the grand scheme of things it really isn't.

So.

I just keep it movin'! My college's mantra sums it up for me:

I want to be a woman who makes a difference in the world.

And if I'm caught up in interpersonal conflict via social media it's really hard to do that.
