New Summer Discoveries with Comcast New England

Disclosure: This post is in partnership with Comcast New England #ad

In the wake of current events, staying connected online has been important now so more than ever so when my friends at Comcast New England invited me and a few other local influencers to learn about the latest offerings from Xfinity I was excited to learn more. It was a mini-reunion of sorts!

We discussed how Xfinity is showcasing diversity, exciting programming on Peacock (including some throwback shows!), and as parents, we learned how it's helping us with our kids with virtual summer school offerings.

So much more ahead...

Kicking Off Summer at XFinity's Day of Awesome

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Comcast. All opinions expressed are my own.

Today officially marks one week down of summer and last weekend I kicked off the season at XFinity's Day of Awesome. We've been an XFinity household for years, and I'm always amazed at their latest updates that help my family manage technology and stay safe. At their new store at Legacy Place, associate Laura took me through a 45 minute overview and of course had plenty of coffee and snacks.

Here's what I was most excited to learn about at Day of Awesome...

I Heart Las Vegas #VegasStrong

Today marks the one year anniversary of the Las Vegas shooting, and I reflected in this Instagram post a while back how painful it's been seeing places that mean so much to me struck by tragic events. I often see online debates about whether to visit in the wake of tragedy, but I believe that it's often after these events that it's the best time to visit. Not only for tightened security, but also to stand in support and solidarity.

Earlier this year when Mr. Lovebird and I found out Life is Beautiful would fall on my birthday we decided to return to Las Vegas for the 11th time, and it went from being a small birthday celebration to a larger family and friends celebration with my brother-in-law, sister-in-law and a few other couples.

Here's how I witnessed #VegasStrong in action.

My Peter Rabbit Movie Garden Party

Disclosure: I received samples to facilitate this review in partnership with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment; all opinions expressed are my own.

This was my 9th Mother's Day and if there's anything I've learned is that there's nothing wrong with making your own day special. When a special Peter Rabbit Movie surprise arrived for me and my family I knew it'd be perfect for a Mother's Day Garden Party. We had seen the movie in the theater when it was first released and absolutely loved it so when I set up everything for my kids to see they were so excited!

My Portable 80s Palm Springs Dinner Party

As a proud 80s baby, any chance I can relive the awesomeness of that decade is welcome so when I knew my blog would be taking me to speak at Altitude Summit this week I was excited to shift my original at-home Destination Dinner party from my formal dining room to the brightly colored conference venue of the Saguaro Hotel in Palm Springs.

It was the perfect back-drop for my Wayfair 80s-inspired dinner party tablescape!

Let the Holidays Begin with #XfinityMoms!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post in partnership with Comcast; all opinions expressed are my own.

What I love about being back in Boston is seeing how certain things have changed and that includes Comcast. I've shared before how I was a Comcast customer in my single-hood days of living in Boston post-college, and once I moved to NYC it was so hard to get used to a different provider. Now back in Boston with Comcast I'm loving all the new updates especially now that I have a family.

Whoa December!

We went to a tree farm fully prepared to cut our tree, but this pre-cut one was our fave!

I looked up and this year is pretty much over. Welp!

Here's what's going on lately (in pictures)...

Our Jr. Celtics Gameday Clinic Experience

Disclosure: I received complimentary Jr. Celtics admission to facilitate this review; photo releases were signed by participants pictured and all opinions expressed are my own.

Can you spot Nia? {Photo Courtesy of Boston Celtics}
Love and basketball. That's always been an underlying theme of my family - Mr. Lovebird and I met in college, and while he doesn't believe I played basketball in middle school and high school, he played all the way through to college and then professionally abroad.

Nia knows this is a part of her family history, and while we've gently tried to suggest basketball to her she's always been quite reluctant.

That changed when she was invited to the Jr. Celtics Gameday Clinic.

Put the Phone Down, Mom! Managing Devices at Dinnertime with Comcast XFINITY xFi

Disclosure: All opinions expressed are my own. I have worked in the past with Comcast on a sponsorship basis.

Now that our school situation is settled and it's a new month, it feels like we're in a bit of reset in our home. Grayson and Nia are no longer at the same school (hopefully just for this year!), and Grayson is also transitioning to his own room this week. Now more than ever the key times that we *are* able to connect are most important and that includes dinnertime. While the kids are screen-free during the school week, I admit I sometimes sneak to check my notifications while we're eating. Thankfully, Comcast has got my back when it comes to reigning in device access.

Managing Summer Screen Time with Comcast Xfinity

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Comcast. All opinions expressed are my own.

A lot has changed in Boston since I lived here almost 10 years ago and as I approach the 1 year anniversary of my return it was fitting to be down on the Boston Waterfront last week as a guest of Comcast. I was there to learn about their latest Xfinity developments for helping customers manage screen time and online security, something I'm concerned about now that both of my children have devices and the transforming waterfront was the perfect metaphor for all the changes coming to Xfinity.

Here's what's on deck...

This Week: Bingewatch With Us During Comcast's Watchathon

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Comcast; all opinions expressed are my own.

A lot has changed here in Boston since I lived here nearly 10 years ago. I remember many date nights in my studio with Mr. Lovebird watching my 19" TV - we were especially fond of the music video stations on Comcast and when they introduced DVR it was a game changer! Now back in Boston but with children, we've learned there's a lot more offerings from Comcast including this week's Watchathon

Haven't heard of it?

Win Big with Folgers' Jingle Contest!

This post was sponsored by Folgers as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines concerning the use of endorsement and testimonials in advertising. I received complimentary products to facilitate my
review.

I'm a proud 80s baby and if there's one part of my childhood that's stuck with me it's my obsession with 80s TV - I even remember the commercials vividly. Who can forget the classic jingle, "The best part of wakin' up is Folgers in your cup?" As a kid seeing how snuggly and warm the coffee drinkers appeared made me want to cozy up with my own cup and while it wasn't until I had my own kids that I became an avid coffee drinker, it's no wonder that I now drink Folgers. Mr. Lovebird and I wake up to it every morning (we're huge fans of the Black Silk blend!) so when I heard about their jingle contest I was intrigued.
