Baby Nightmare

Last night I had my first nightmare about Nia. It was so sad. I left her with a babysitter - it was a woman I didn't recognize - and when I came back Nia had a nasty wound on the side of her head. What was strange is the woman didn't offer any information about what had happened until I asked. She said that Nia had turned her head suddenly and hit the woman in the mouth and her teeth caused the gash. It looked really painful in the dream, but Nia wasn't crying when I came back to get her and acted as though nothing happened. It broke my heart to see her with a wound.

I think this dream was based on the fact that I was reading about head injuries being the #1 injury for kids and that Nia's started head butting. I don't believe it's deliberate, but her head often clangs with my chin and neck when she's frantically looking around as she does a lot now that she's curious about everything.

Each time we go in the grocery store she cries after a while in her stroller until we lift her out. She immediately starts turning her head quickly to look at all the signs, packages and people. We took her to the grocery store for the first time when she was about 5 days old. I guess she's developed a love for it!
