How Norwex is Breaking My Paper Towels Addiction

Disclosure: I received products to facilitate this review; all opinions expressed are my own.

I'm so excited for this Earth Day giveaway post today because it involves my BFF of 25 years and a solution to a household issue that I have! Before kids I rarely purchased paper towels, but now I admit I'm a bit too dependent on them - we buy them in bulk and use them in the kitchen mostly but also for guests in our 2nd bathroom. We have cotton hand towels always on hand, but I find myself ripping off a strip of paper towel to handle most messes. And there are MANY. I have paper towel guilt and in the same way I refuse to purchase disposable plastic water bottles I'm determined to break my paper towel addiction.

Enter my best friend Julie: we've known each other since we were 10 years old when we started going to the same school in 5th grade. She's appeared on my blog a few times and with 4 kids of her own when Julie gives me a tip to make my household run better, I take it! Now enter Norwex

Julie and her beautiful family
Julie was introduced to Norwex about 6 months ago when her good friend had a Norwex open house. She shared with me why she likes Norwex and as a mompreneur why it works for her and her family:

I was intrigued [by Norwex] because I have loved using eco-friendly green cleaning products for many years. I went to her open house and tested out several of the products. I instantly fell in love them with them and how easy they were to use for tough cleaning jobs. I honestly wanted to order most of the catalog at her open house but I would have had one very unhappy husband if I placed that large of an order. So I became a consultant about a month later and have really enjoyed this new venture in my life.

I'm a stay-at-home and homeschooling mom to 3 of my 4 children. I've longed to be a mompreneur for many years but have always struggled with past ideas because they were taking up such large chunks of my time. Norwex makes it easy for me to fit my own business into my busy schedule because not only have I saved time in my cleaning routine but I've been able to do my training and sell the products from the comforts of my own home. So what started out as a way for me to earn my wish list of Norwex items has turned into so much more for me. I have really enjoyed learning all about the many products, interacting with new people, providing extra income for my family, and the eco-friendly aspect of Norwex is a perfect fit for me.

My favorite product is the cleaning paste. The cleaning paste used with my kitchen cloth truely is my elbow grease in a jar and I no longer struggle with my least favorite cleaning job which is cleaning my glass top stove.

During this past week I've put Norwex to the test: Julie sent me the EnviroCloth, Kitchen Cloth and Dusting Mitt. Here's a quick video of how Nia and I used the Kitchen Cloth to clean our microwave:

Grayson woke up right when we were about to wipe it down so I took a few pictures showing the result - the grime easily came off and I simply rinsed out the cloth:

I was able to wipe of the grease - the bottom of our microwave got fried from a previous incident (I think it's time for a new one!)

Dust is the #1 issue I have in my home, and I've been in a cleaning frenzy with my Dusting Mitt - even Grayson got in on the action and I found him under the table using the EnviroCloth trying to clean up his mess! I used my Dusting Mitt on our piano which is the most frequent collector of dust as well as on the washing machine and dryer - I didn't realize how much dust and grit collects in the crevices and now our set looks like new!

Norwex microfiber has BacLock, their exclusive antibacterial agent so I don't have to launder the cloth frequently. It has the ability to remove up to 99% of bacteria from a surface and works with or without water so I've been able to move throughout my daily paper towel-abusing routine of cleaning the microwave, countertops, table, high chair and booster seat relying on just my Norwex cloths and water. I appreciate that they're effective, sustainable and have a 2 year warranty. Oh and they come in pretty colors too!

Are you interested in giving Norwex a try? Julie's offered to give one Harlem Lovebirds reader a Dusting Mitt (MRV $18.49) - it's so plush and handles dust much better than throwaway dusters (yes, I admit I used to purchase those too). Giveaway begins today, April 21 and ends Monday, April 25 with the winner announced  thereafter (open to U.S. residents ages 18+). Easy entry via Rafflecopter below:
