Lovebirds Lately

The past two weeks we've been hanging out locally around New England, and while we're gearing up for more adventures, I wanted to pop in with a quick update...

The biggest news?

YASSSSSS! My sister Ariane is engaged (aren't they a handsome couple?!). We all Skyped over the weekend and found out - Nia even cheered! I'm SO excited to welcome my future brother-in-law into the family.

A rare moment when Grayson joined his sister to watch the musical
We were recently back in Portsmouth, NH to check out the Prescott Park Festival matinee of Mary Poppins. Grayson was more interested in running around, but it was a lot of fun to visit with friends

He rode this one 3x!

We're still making good use of our Six Flags membership. We were rained out (again!) this past Friday so took the kids on Sunday. The only thing is my feet still feel like they're walking around the theme park! We haven't kept up with swimming lessons over the summer, but the kids have been super confident in the water park at Six Flags.

Nia started tennis camp, and we love the adjacent playground which gives Grayson time with me to play (and spy on big sister!). This summer's camp schedule is definitely more chill compared to last summer.

Something else Nia's started? Getting into Pokemon thanks to my brother Michael. I tried watching a few YouTube videos about it, and while I don't quite get it, I'm glad it gives her something to connect with her uncle over especially since he lives in Tennessee, and we don't get to see him that often.

Locally, we're keeping our eyes open for opportunities to get involved in the Boston community. We're approaching our 1 year anniversary of homeownership here, and it still feels surreal! The kids and I joined in at the Imagine Boston 2030 kick-of party to share the first wave of the study's results as Boston prepares for longterm improvement initiatives.

Uka and I were hoping to sign both kids up for camp at the Y since Nia's a "late" 7 year old, approaching her birthday in a few weeks. They have a 3-6 year old program, but explained because she's entering 2nd grade they'd put her in the next level so I went ahead and decided to wait until she turns 7 for her to join camp and bypass camp for Grayson. She's doing 1 week as a trial and then will have the option to finish 2 more weeks prior to school starting.

Today I'm excited to head off the grid for a few days...

Have a good week!
