Review & Giveaway: Pamper Yourself With Thyme Maternity Skincare

Enjoying Getting Gorgeous//Thyme Maternity's skincare line
I've shared before how part of the reason why I'm so shallow reluctant to get pregnant is that I really prefer the non-pregnant version of myself vs. the pregnant version.

Case in point:

Pregnancy plus extended nursing did a number on my body, and while I'm currently under my pre-pregnancy weight (hitting the streets of NYC with my Lil Love Bird in tow is my workout of choice!*), there is still a lot to be done in the way of smoothing and reshaping the areas that were decimated altered during pregnancy. I know that's kinda harsh right???

Well the team from Thyme Maternity and I had a few good laughs at Getting Gorgeous last month when I shared the same thoughts I just shared above, and promptly sent me home with their Soothing Therapy Breast Cream and as they felt sorry for me follow-up they shipped me a few more products to try.

To understand where I'm coming from here's a breakdown of my post-partum trouble spots:
  • Boobs - not as buoyant
  • Thighs - not as taut
  • Hips/butt - stretch marks =( but as I've shared before I adored my pregnancy booty! It was the best ever!
and the most troubling of all . . .
  • Tummy - all sorts of squishiness and stretch marks
So my plan of attack nearly 3 years post-partum was to use the Thyme Maternity skincare line for two weeks, and here's what I've noticed:
  • It smells amazing - if anything the smell alone makes me excited to use them! For example the Soothing Therapy Stretch Mark Cream contains seaweed extract, Vitamin E and avocado oil with a pleasant, refreshing scent
  • The products are generally recommended for twice daily use - I was pretty good about this but some days could only do it once a day especially if I crashed hard at night, which happens often.
  • Pay attention to the labels - although I'm not pregnant or nursing, some of the products are OK to use if nursing while others aren't; additionally it's important to note that the Soothing Therapy Restructuring Gel cannot be applied to c-section scars
  • I wish I had the Thyme Maternity skincare line when I was pregnant/immediately post-partum - Mr. Love Bird noticed more of a difference in tone than I did (and that's all I'll say about that!), but it was definitely in a good way ;-) I can only imagine what the results would have been if I had used the products consistently during pregnancy and immediately after
  • *Speaking of schlepping Lil Love Bird I'm now a huge fan of the Soothing Therapy Leg Gel; after being out in the brief heat wave we got a week ago it felt so good to come home and rub it on my legs (I kept it in the fridge as recommended!)
