Review & Giveaway: Shark Rocket Vacuum

Lil Lovebird was eager to help clean up her spilled cereal on the rug - while wearing pink pumps of course!

There are a few things that can get me excited when it comes to household obligations and one of those is any product that makes the process easier. When I visited the Shark booth at Alt Summit last month I knew I found a winner! My husband was getting tired me of me lamenting over our old vacuum we've had since we got married almost 5 years ago so when I had the opportunity to win one at the Shark booth I decided to go for it.

I submitted this photo to their #SharkAfterParty contest and won both a Shark Rocket Vacuum AND a Steam & Spray Mop not only for myself but for my BFF Julie:

This review is for the Rocket only so let's get started!

While I waited for my prize to arrive I read the features and was quite impressed:

Nia helped me shoot this quick Instagram video when it arrived then was super excited to help me open it and put it together.

Here's what impressed me from the jump:

• Easy-to-read messaging - even on the box and flaps when the box was first opened it was super simple to follow

• Quick start - we were able to snap in all the pieces effortlessly and get up and running in 5 minutes! There was a quick start guide as well as a more detailed manual which I read later

• Super lightweight - just under 8lbs the Rocket is super easy to maneuver (very important while pregnant especially!)

• It works - with bare and carpet settings once you flip that switch you really feel the power of the vacuum (it literally pulled me!) and can see exactly what's being picked up in the canister including SO much dust. Just going over my rug which I regularly vacuumed with my 5 year old vacuum picked up much more dirt than I had ever seen!

If there is one thing I'd change it'd be the ability for it to stand easily without toppling over. This was a complaint from Mr. Lovebird especially and although there is a holster to wall mount the Rocket, there were times when he needed to step away then come back to the Rocket instead of putting it away or propping it up (since it was top heavy).

Also, the Rocket seemed exceptionally tall, which for someone petite could be an issue but felt comfortable for me as well as for Mr. Lovebird who at 6'8" isn't used to products being tall enough for him.
