Pursuing Wellness with Nature Made

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Nature Made as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central and all opinions expressed in my post are my own.

One of the things I noticed when I became a mom is that my own health has taken a backseat to my children's. I've shared a bit here on the blog about some of my health challenges and throwing in a lot of life changes the past year, I'm working at getting better at pursuing wellness. Before becoming a mom I was an avid exerciser even getting up at 5a.m. for years Monday through Friday to make it to the gym. No excuses! Quickly those routines changed, but I've learned to now focus on those little things that I can control (I'm all about Kaizen).

Here are 3 of those "little" things:

Breakfast - I am the biggest fan of the first (and best!) meal of the day in my household. I savor it. With my coffee, fresh fruit, eggs and often oatmeal or whole grain toast, if I go without it I know I will not have a successful day. I also make sure to take supplements. As an avid Nature Made user for many years, when they invited me to try the B12 supplement I knew it'd be perfect for my busy lifestyle. I picked them up at my local grocery store (we're a fan of Wegmans!). I had my B levels checked recently and they are spot on so I know I'm on the right track

Always chasing this lil guy!
Staying Active - Note I didn't say "exercise." Since moving back to Boston, while we did maintain our gym membership, which is walking distance, I met with a new doctor recently who helped me feel better about not having a strict exercise regimen. She saw how busy my little buddy Grayson keeps me as he accompanied me to my appointment and she assured me with all the walking and outings we do around the city that I'm getting much more "exercise" than I realized. We mamas need to cut ourselves some slack.

My Responses - This the hardest for me. I've kept the above quote on my nightstand for years and I still struggle with it. As much as I try to preempt things, reality is life with small kids in a big city makes for lots of last minute situations. While I really do try to pause before I react it's something I have to talk myself through pretty much all. the. time. Grace and empathy go a long way ya'll!
