When Pencil and Eraser meet there's a few personality differences, and I love how the illustrations play off the functionality of each utensil to demonstrate the progression of their relationship. It's such a great metaphor for using each other's differences to make a difference together.
Ultimately, it's a book my son and I often re-read as he completes his nightly Kindergarten reading requirement. I also appreciate that given the 4 year age difference of my son and daughter the book is a regular metaphor for their relationship. Instead of seeing him as the "little pesky brother," reading the story together shows my daughter how he adds a special dimension (at times!) to their interactions.
