Life With Nia: 9 Months

The ever-so-serious Lil Love Bird
Nia's 9 month dr. appointment was yesterday, and I'm happy to report she's super healthy and advanced! Her dr. said she's very strong and average weight and height. We are having so much fun with her, and she cracks us up all the time especially with the new crazy sounds she likes to make (including fake crying) and serious facial expressions.

I know the next 3 months are going to go super fast so I really need to get on the ball with planning her 1st birthday party.

She's working on her mobility and for whatever reason still can't figure out how to pick up her pelvis to crawl, but that doesn't stop her from getting from point A to point B via the zombie crawl (note the "dead" left leg, which her dr. says is perfectly normal):

Here's the update:
  • Baby's Weight: I had guessed 18-19lbs last month, but she's actually 17lbs 15 oz (1 1/2 lbs gained since her 6 month appointment)
  • Baby's Height: I had estimated 27" last month, and I was nearly spot on: she's officially 27 1/2" (like her weight, 1 1/2" gained since her 6 month appointment)
  • What size of clothing does baby wear? Nia can still fit some 6-9 months clothing but is in 12 months too - she's super slim and long!
  • Any milestones baby reached during the month:
      • Giving kisses
      • Cruising
      • Pulling to a standing position
      • Attempting to stand on her own
  • Special outings baby had during the month: Nia continues to go all over the city and went with me the first time I went to the Wendy Williams' casting call - she even met Wendy, who unfortunately refused a picture with us (who could resist such a cutie?!).
  • What are your thoughts about the past month? This has been a great month - Nia's sense of humor is awesome! I definitely see how she takes after our goofiness; it must be genetic!
  • What was baby's routine? Bedtime's getting a little earlier between 7:30-8:30p.m. and still only 2 baths/wk but now that it's warmer we'll move up to 3x/wk.
  • Reflect about the highlights of the month: Unfortunately, we missed two weeks of storytime due to naptime, but now that we're back on track, Nia's more engaged singing, dancing and clapping, but she still won't let me sit her down on the playmat with the other kids.
  • Did any big changes occur, such as baby started daycare, stopped nursing, slept through the night, etc... No changes!
  • What are baby's favorites - toy, food, person, etc... Her sit and stand walker has now replaced Sophie as her favorite toy.
