Lovebirds' April Fools' Shenanigans

Mr. Lovebird and I met in college when we were 18 (you can read our full story here) and over the years I realized that I could get him pretty good for April Fools'. However, he eventually built up immunity so after years of April Fool's pranks I stopped when we were married, but after reading Mashable's roundup of simple April Fools' Day pranks on April Fools' Eve I decided to try this one in honor of our 5th anniversary:

Pretty gross, right? I laughed so hard when I first read it and nearly started crying but then when I set it up before going to bed and realized just how real it appeared I wondered what had the original creator been thinking to figure out that an empty toilet paper roll makes a very realistic piece of poo. I tell ya there are some sick people out there!

Anyway, thinking Mr. Lovebird would find my "surprise" in the a.m. sunlight instead he was up in the wee hours. I immediately sprung awoke to listen to his reaction. First, the dim light came on then the brighter light and he exclaimed, "Quiana! Did you do this?!" By then I was already crying laughing imagining his face. Through my laughing I announced, "April Fools'!" and he said, "Maaaaan! Don't mess with me! I don't have time for this!" followed by a pause then, "Can I touch this?!" which threw me into further fits of laughter as I tried to explain it was just a wet toilet paper roll.

Back in bed he smiled a bit and admitted it was a pretty good prank!

Well karma came back to me when later mid-morning on my way into the city I came across a 30 minute old text from my sister Ariane based on this:

And of course being the intelligent, college-educated woman I am I called her. 

Ughhhhhhhhhhh. 

She got me!
