Zoo To You with MEFA’s U.Fund College Investing Plan

One of my family’s challenges this season has been staying engaged with many of our favorite sites including our local zoo. Thankfully, ZooToYou, brought to you by MEFA’s U.Fund College Investing Plan, brings the zoo experience right to you via Facebook Live!

Learning starts at home, and while it’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the video conferences, being able to take a fun break with your family and meet zoo animals is a welcome experience! Grayson and I recently joined in the Facebook Live ZooToYou sessions where we met the resident yak at the Stone Zoo, a New England Zoo.

It was so adorable watching the yak play with a pumpkin! As she sniffed around and came right up to the camera, zoo guides also answered questions straight from the kids watching. This was a wonderful interactive experience! Each ZooToYou session takes place from 1-2pm EST which for us falls within the tail-end of my family’s lunch break.

Each session is brief - about 15 minutes - and gives you a close-up experience of various animals at both zoos. If you follow the Stone Zoo and Franklin Zoo Facebook pages, you can set up your notifications to stay on top of the ZooToYou schedule!

Also, if you miss a ZooToYou session, you can even catch the replays. Grayson recently caught up on meeting the calves at the Franklin Zoo, and he was really curious to learn how they keep their hooves cleaned. Although he knows the zoo is just a few miles from us, we haven’t been able to visit, so it’s such a welcome treat to enjoy from the comfort of our home. Continuing to learn at home is an experience I’ll always champion even when my children return to in-person learning, but for now this is a great way to supplement their school’s remote learning.

While my family may not know what the future holds for long-term school, I’m grateful to continue saving for college so that when the time comes, we’ll be able to make a plan. We make sure it stays automated, and it gives us confidence knowing we’re saving for when the time comes.
